Dormont PD moves to Allegheny County Dispatch
This is a posting from the TRAMA group. Thanks to Frank, K3FSS, for the info.
Dormont PD has gone to Allegheny County 911 as of 0000 today. They are now on 460.500 PL 131.8, and using unit #19--. This now leaves Mt.Lebanon Police as the sole agency on 460.200 PL 131.8. They are now the odd men out when it comes to communicating to their assisting agencies.
I am not 100% sure what has become of the fire department. I will post when I can confirm.
It looks like Mt. Lebanon has intentions of running South Hills
through the end of the year. I have no idea who will be left on there.
Mt. Lebanon police are rumored to be going on county 911 after the end of the year. The frequency the South Hills agencies will use for police is yet to be determined as rumor has it that Mt. Lebanon will not allow the county to use 460.200. Mt. Lebanon holds the licenses to all freqs used by South Hills Regional Dispatch (even the new ones that South Hills applied for).
What freqs the fire departments are going to use are up in the air as well, for quite possibly the very same reasons.
Things will be getting interesting in the South Hills area, and
probably other areas of the county for the next few months. Keep an ear out for agencies moving to new freqs as the county gets settled in.
Hope all had an enjoyable holiday,
Frank K3FSS
